Have a character sheet registered with the Story Teller. Getting started in the game without one is alright, but have it turned in to the ST's by your 3rd session (surely six weeks is plenty of time to get things straightened out). If there is no character sheet after that? You can expect problems. If you wish to create a character that is unusual, consult with a Story Teller FIRST. For creating a character, please use the standard two books, The Long Night and Laws of the Night. If your desired clan or discipline is not in those two books, it will not be allowed without significant discussion with the Story Tellers FIRST.

1. Do not bring, nor be under the influence of, drugs or alcohol. By the same token, if you are unwell, PLEASE do not come to the game.

2. Do not bring children or pets. If you wish for a friend to join the game that is under 18, the StoryTellers must meet their parent or legal guardian before a character can be generated.

3. Be sure to pay the $1 per night game dues. It is not fair to put the burden of the game cost on the Story Teller, Narrators and Homeowner who hosts the game. Please, ARRIVE ON TIME, Sign in will start at 7:30, the game starts at 8pm. Players who sign in by 8:30 will receive extra experience points.

4. Acquire the appropriate attire. If you are not sure how to dress for that age, check these pages for general ideas on costuming in that era. If you ask courteously of other players, you MAY be able to find loaner garb, or tips on making your own. There are also some wonderful movies to use as reference. The A&E version of Ivanhoe is ideal, as is Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.

5. The Out-Of-Character areas are those lit by artificial light (electric lights, as opposed to candles which will be found throughout the gaming area [Elysium]). Contain Out-Of-Period topics to those areas please.

6. The game occurs at a private residence. Treat it, and the owner, with respect. This is not a place to drag observers/friends/relatives to, just so they can "see whats up". This is a participatory activity, not a zoo or freak show. If you borrow props or costumes, please put them back at the end of the evening.

7. Props are encouraged very strongly. The rule regarding steel is, DO NOT DRAW IT without calling "CLEAR". Refer to SCA standard rules of courtesy, for beginners, regarding live steel, and general rules of behavior.

8. If you need to be gone from the game for a period of time, that is alright. HOWEVER, let the storytellers know that you will be gone, and an approximate idea of how long. If you are gone for more than four or five games, let us know what is going on, otherwise your character will suffer an IN GAME DEATH. We can't just put a character involved in the storyline on a shelf and be able to keep a cohesive storyline!! Let us know what is going on!! Or. Else.

9. If you happen to suffer a death of your character due to being gone, do not show up six or nine or twenty months later demanding to use that character sheet. It's dead. It was used as a storyline tool, and probably died quite gloriously. Make a new character, and move on.
